The 1st stage of the pilot scheme started in September 2007. Four churches and one Grace Worker participated in the scheme. The results so far have been very encouraging. Toddler groups have been established; school assemblies and lessons have been led; clubs and one-off events have taken place, friendships have been made with members of the Sunday congregation and fringe families have been encouraged to return to church.
The 2nd stage of the pilot scheme will start in September 2008. There are a number of churches committed to/considering joining stage 2. Experienced children's workers are needed to lead the children's ministry programme in these churches.
The deadline for churches to sign-up for a Grace Worker is Wednesday 30th April. Details will be posted on the website as soon as possible. The final number of posts available will not be known for certain until the first week of May. Some of these posts will be full-time and some will be part-time. Interviews will be held in the East Midlands at the end of May.
The closing date for applications is Saturday 10th May 2008.
