Services
The Grace Project enables churches to share a professional children’s worker at an affordable price. It can help churches in the Midlands which need someone to lead their children's work. Is your church in this situation? If so, why not engage a Grace Worker? Grace currently operates in churches within about an hours drive of East Midlands Airport. Churches further afield can apply to join, but may be charged the additional mileage costs.
A Grace Worker could come to work for your church for 8 hours a week. This could include one day per week visiting the local school and/or running midweek clubs on church premises. It could also include one Sunday per month in order to encourage midweek contacts to come and worship with your church congregation. Churches interested in having a Grace Worker receive a free visit. This is to discuss how the scheme works and to individualise the programme to meet the needs of the local area.
Every church needs someone with the skills to adapt the children's programme to meet the needs of existing members of the group as they grow older and to maintain an outreach programme so that new, young families will want to join the church.
Establishing - Sustaining - Growing
The Grace Worker scheme provides someone who can establish new initiatives and/or sustain projects started by leaders no longer able to continue their work. In the churches participating in the pilot scheme, many more children are being reached with the Gospel message and there are more families attending church services. Fruitful ministry is due to prayer and strategic, informed planning.
The fee for a Grace Worker is currently £7,500 for one academic year. There will be no increase in the second year and the annual fee will increase by no more than the rate of inflation in the third year. The fee paid by the churches covers salary etc, training, management and mentoring, 'allowable expenses' such as mileage, craft materials etc. There will be no opportunity to join the Grace Project in 2012. This is because we shall move from one year contracts to commitments lasting a minimum of two years. For churches wishing to take advantage of the opportunity to renew their contracts annually, 1st April 2011 is the last date on which they can apply under the current terms. From September 2013 there will be a two year package available.
