A Grace Children’s Worker in your Church
The Grace Project enables churches to benefit from a professional children’s worker at an affordable price. There are three schemes available. They all help churches needing someone to develop their children’s work. Is your church in this situation? If so, read on…
A One Year Mission is the new scheme launching this year. Volunteers are recruited in partnership with ‘Time for God’. Churches need to start discussions by the end of January and commit by 17th March (St Patrick’s Day) so that preparations can be made before the volunteers arrive the following September. Please download the details below:
The Deluxe Scheme is available anywhere in England and Wales. Churches can join this scheme at any time. Grace Workers are appointed to a specific church and the interviews are held in the place where they will be working. The church can have input into the writing of the job description and decide the hours of working.
The Shared Worker Scheme is available in the Midlands in the postcode areas listed below. The Grace Worker could come to work for your church for 8 hours a week. They serve each church one day per week visiting the local school and/or running midweek clubs on church premises plus one Sunday per month in order to encourage midweek contacts to come and worship with your church congregation.
Every church benefits from someone with the skills to adapt the children’s programme to meet the needs of existing members of the group as they grow older and to maintain an outreach programme so that new, young families will want to join the church.
Establishing – Sustaining – Growing
The Grace Worker scheme provides someone who can establish new initiatives and/or sustain projects started by leaders no longer able to continue their work. In the churches participating, many more children are being reached with the Gospel message and there are more families attending church services. The best, most fruitful ministry is due to prayer, a willingness of the church members to support the work and strategic, informed planning.
The minimum contract for a shared Grace Worker is two years from September 2014 to August 2016. The fee is £8,000 for each academic year. There will be no increase in the second year. The fee paid by the churches covers salary etc, training, management, mentoring, ‘allowable expenses’ such as mileage, craft materials etc. If you would like a Grace Worker to come to your church, we need to hear from you by 1st March (St David’s Day). This allows us to advertise in the May edition of ‘Youthwork’ for staff and work with your church members in preparation.
